Description GYPAST
Festulolum – a hybrid of oatgrass and ryegrass, created at the Kaliningrad Institute of Agriculture from four breeding varieties (VIK 90, Gypast, Felima, Foytan). It combines the best traits of its parents: cold hardiness and vigorous root development from ryegrass with high green mass productivity from oatgrass.

The "GYPAST" variety is distinguished by increased yield: up to 602 c/ha of green mass and 143 c/ha of hay with 14.2% crude protein. Throughout the growing period (3–4 years), it demonstrates disease resistance approximately 25% above the average for similar crops, and seed productivity exceeds the average by 15%. The sowing rate ranges from 22 to 30 kg/ha.

Festulolum is well-eaten and digestible, recovers quickly after mowing or grazing. It has good drought resistance, yet responds very well to irrigation, and possesses high winter hardiness in the central region. With a three-cut usage, green mass yield reaches 30.6–45 t/ha, dry matter – 6.6–9.0 t/ha, and seeds – 0.5–0.7 t/ha.
