The "Ataman 20" variety is a medium-maturing esparcet (Onobrychis Mill.) characterized by a stable rosette form and a height of 100 to 110 cm, ensuring good planting density. The plant has a semi-erect or erect structure with medium-stiffness, non-hairy stems. The leaves are lanceolate or ovate in shape, dark green in color, while the inflorescences are loose, spindle-shaped racemes with a pinkish hue, measuring 6–7 cm long. The pods are round, and the bean-shaped seeds are brown.
"Ataman 20" is characterized by high green mass yield – about 297 kg/ha, and dry matter – approximately 79 kg/ha. The crude protein content is 18.34%, making it a valuable feed material for livestock. Fiber content in the plant reaches 31%. Thanks to its ability to fix nitrogen, this variety improves soil fertility and reduces the need for chemical fertilizers.
The variety is suitable for a wide range of regions: Northern, Northwestern, Central, Volga-Vyatsky, Central-Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle-Volga, Lower-Volga, Ural, Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, and the Far East. It is drought-resistant, making it particularly valuable for regions with frequent moisture problems. "Ataman 20" is a reliable choice both for improving soil quality and for ensuring a bountiful harvest under various climatic conditions.
