Sainfoin SHURAVI

Focus on Intensive Green Manure Farming

Sainfoin 'Shuravi' is a specialized cultivar developed by the Donskoy Agrarian Research Center. Unlike general-purpose forage varieties, this cultivar is engineered specifically for its soil-improving properties. Its primary role in the crop rotation is to restore soil fertility, fix atmospheric nitrogen, and optimize the structure of the plow layer.

Agronomic Profile

The cultivar demonstrates consistent performance in regions prone to erosion and moisture stress. 'Shuravi' is characterized by an extensive root system that penetrates deep into the soil profile, providing natural aeration and structural improvement without mechanical intervention.

• Usage: Exclusively green manure (siderate).
• Seed Yield: 8–12 cwt/ha, ensuring stable supply for seed production cycles.
• Biological traits: High rate of biomass accumulation, essential for producing sufficient green matter for soil incorporation.

The reputation of 'Shuravi' is built on the expertise of the Donskoy Center, which focuses on developing crops adapted to climatic volatility. For farmers adopting organic practices or seeking to reduce synthetic nitrogen inputs, this variety acts as a strategic asset. By incorporating 'Shuravi' into the crop rotation, producers significantly enhance the yields of subsequent crops, such as winter cereals or sunflowers, by enriching the soil with organic matter.

Choosing 'Shuravi' reflects a commitment to long-term land management, treating soil health as the primary factor in agricultural success.
