Esparcet "RUSICH" – a perennial herbaceous plant of the legume family, with a height ranging from 30 to 70 cm. At the beginning of flowering, the bushes are semi-erect, the stem with inflorescence is of medium length and hollow. Leaves are dark green, the central leaflet is of medium length and width. Flowers are gathered in racemes up to 20 cm long; the standard petal is longer than the boat-shaped petal, the raceme is oval and dense. The pod is of medium size, the mass of 1000 seeds is average.
The plant is characterized by bright pinkish-purple flowers, which appear in the second year of life and continue to bloom from the end of May to mid-June. Esparcet is a nectar-bearing plant: from one hectare, bee families can collect up to 6 kg of clear, aromatic, and tasty honey in one day. The honey remains light amber and does not crystallize for a long time.
In agriculture, esparcet is valued as a fodder crop and in apiculture due to its high protein and nutrient content. It improves soil structure by enriching it with nitrogen compounds, protecting it from erosion and promoting ecosystem stability. Long roots ensure good penetration into the soil, enhancing the plant's viability and its ability to recover from unfavorable conditions.
