Quartet

The Quartet eggplant variety is an early-maturing culture intended for open-field cultivation, especially in the Far Eastern region. The plants are semi-spreading, reaching a height of 38 to 61 cm, which ensures ease of care and harvest collection. The fruits have a shortened-pyramidal shape, with a length of 11.5 to 14 cm and a diameter of 6-8 cm, while the average weight of one fruit ranges from 102 to 123 grams.

The flesh of the Quartet eggplants is white-greenish, of medium density, and without bitterness, making them particularly attractive for home cooking and canning. The fruits contain a large number of seeds, and the taste qualities are rated as good. The maturity period is early—the fruits are ready for harvest 107-122 days after the appearance of full seedlings, which allows for a quick harvest.

The variety is distinguished by its high drought resistance and disease resistance, in particular to bacterial fruit rots, which increases the reliability of cultivation and harvest quality. The yield is 0.9 to 1.3 kg per square meter, which corresponds to 82-126 centners per hectare, a good indicator for this region. Due to its characteristics, the Quartet eggplant is recommended both for home use and for the canning industry.
