Eggplant VIOLET SPHERE EGGPLANT

Eggplant 'Violet Sphere' is a mid-early, high-yielding variety with an original fruit shape and a rich dark violet color. The plant is compact, ranging from 50 to 75 cm in height, with a powerful root system and abundant foliage. The vegetative period varies from 65 to 130 days depending on growing conditions. The variety is suitable for cultivation in open ground, greenhouses, and under temporary film coverings. It is recommended to grow seedlings without transplanting and to support the plants on a vertical stake for better fruit formation.

Eggplant fruits have a round or elongated-cylindrical shape, with a diameter of 4 to 18 cm and a weight of 200 to 900 g. They are distinguished by dense, white flesh without bitterness and thin skin with a glossy surface. The fruits have excellent taste qualities, suitable for home cooking, including stuffing, preparing side dishes, and canning. Eggplants tolerate careful transportation well and short-term storage in a cool, dark place, and retain their taste and structure after freezing.

The variety is sensitive to low temperatures and drafts, requires regular treatment against pests and viral diseases. It is plastic to agrotechnical measures and recovers quickly after unfavorable conditions. The recommended planting density does not exceed 3 plants per square meter, which contributes to an even load of fruits and a high yield. Thanks to its characteristics, the eggplant 'Violet Sphere' is an excellent choice for cultivation at home and on household plots.
