ICORNY

The Icorny eggplant variety is intended for making caviar, canning, and home cooking. This medium-late variety features a semi-spreading bush with a height of about 70 cm, although some descriptions note a height up to 50 cm. The plant stem lacks anthocyanin coloring, and the leaves are green and slightly wrinkled. The fruits are oval or cylindrical in shape, dark purple in color with a glossy surface, weighing from 250 to 300 grams. The flesh is light, tender, and without bitterness, ensuring high product quality.

Icorny is distinguished by high yield — up to 2 kg of ripe fruits can be harvested from a small bed, and with proper care, the yield reaches 2.5-3.0 kg per square meter. The variety is resistant to common diseases, which facilitates its cultivation. It is recommended to grow it via seedlings: sowing for seedlings is done in late February, and transplanting into the ground — in late May, with a distance between plants of 40 by 60 cm. To ensure better fruit formation, side shoots and leaves up to the first fork should be removed, leaving 5-6 large ovaries by the end of July. The plant requires shaping and staking.
