Drakosha

The Drakosha eggplant variety is an early-maturing variety suitable for growing in open ground as well as under film coverings. The plant reaches a height of up to one meter, has a compact and vigorous form with intense anthocyanin stem coloring and pubescence. Leaves are of medium size, green with a smooth blade and weakly wavy edge. This variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and temperature fluctuations, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Drakosha eggplant fruits have a pear shape, dark violet glossy color, and weigh from 200 to 300 grams, with a length of 17-21 cm and a diameter of 8-9 cm. The flesh is whitish, without bitterness, ensuring good taste qualities after culinary processing. The absence or rare presence of spines on the calyx makes harvesting more convenient. Fruits are widely used in cooking and canning, expanding their application possibilities. Growing technology includes sowing for seedlings at the end of February — beginning of March with pricking out at the stage of one or two true leaves. Seedling transplanting under film coverings is conducted in mid-May, and into open ground — in early June, following a planting scheme of 60x40 cm. To increase yield, by the end of July, 5-6 of the largest ovaries are left on the plant, removing the rest of the flowers and ovaries. Yield under film coverings reaches 4.4-5.2 kg per square meter, indicating the high productivity of the variety.
