Dill ARGAMAK

Breeding Legacy of VNIISSOK

The 'Argamak' dill variety is a staple of Russian agricultural science. Developed by experts at the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production (formerly VNIISSOK), this variety is a registered breeding achievement known for producing high-quality leafy greens. Unlike some modern hybrids tailored for intensive high-speed greenhouse rotations, 'Argamak' focuses on a classic balance between essential oil content and visual marketability.

Agronomic Profile

The primary purpose of this variety is cultivation for fresh herb production. The plant develops a well-structured, upright leaf rosette, which significantly simplifies both manual and mechanical harvesting, reducing post-harvest losses. A key characteristic of 'Argamak' is its slow bolting habit. For farmers, this results in a wider harvest window, which is essential for managing production in fluctuating weather conditions.

• Type: Leafy variety.
• Usage: Fresh market herbs (bunching).
• Breeder: Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production (VNIISSOK).
• Vegetation traits: Extended duration of vegetative maturity before flowering.

In the professional seed market, 'Argamak' is valued for its consistency. It is frequently selected by growers targeting local markets who require a reliable performer that demonstrates stable results with standard agricultural practices. Its successful adaptation to diverse climates gives it an edge over several introduced varieties that require more specialized microclimate management.
