The Shagane blackcurrant variety is a mid-ripening, large-fruit variety known for its high yield and excellent tart-sweet berry flavor. The berries weigh between 4 and 8 grams, have a tender pulp and a matte surface, giving them an attractive appearance. The vitamin composition is rich in vitamin C, with content reaching 119.39 mg%, and sugar content is about 9.48%, providing a pleasant refreshing taste.

Shagane bushes are medium-sized and slightly spreading, which facilitates care and harvest collection. The variety is characterized by early fruiting and self-fertility at a level of 62%, contributing to stable and high yields. Yield reaches an average of 7.8 tons per hectare or 4-5 kg per bush, making it attractive for commercial cultivation.

The variety has good resistance to main diseases such as powdery mildew and bud mite, and is weakly affected by septoria. Berries are distinguished by excellent transportability and versatility, suitable for all types of processing, including fresh market, freezing, and production of juices or jams.
