Currant Anniversary Kopania

A Reliable Choice for Commercial Blackcurrant Production

"Yubileynaya Kopanya" is a standout variety for commercial growers who prioritize operational efficiency and crop consistency. Bred for intensive farming systems, this blackcurrant variety has become a gold standard for farms looking to balance high yields with manageable production costs.

Key Production Advantages

• Mechanical Harvesting Capability: Thanks to its firm skin and uniform ripening, this variety is well-suited for machine harvesting, a critical factor for large-scale operations looking to reduce manual labor costs.
• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits strong genetic resistance to anthracnose and powdery mildew. This significant natural resilience allows growers to minimize chemical input, resulting in lower costs per hectare and a more sustainable production model.
• Market Versatility: With a dry abscission layer and excellent fruit firmness, the berries maintain their quality during transport and storage, making them ideal for both fresh market sales and the frozen fruit industry.

Agronomic Best Practices

To achieve the variety's full potential (reaching up to 5-6 kg per bush), growers should focus on intensive management, including regular irrigation and targeted fertilization. The bushes are semi-spreading, which aids in maintenance operations. Annual pruning is essential to keep the plant productive by focusing energy on 2-3 year-old branches, where the primary yield is generated. "Yubileynaya Kopanya" thrives in fertile, well-drained soils and is a reliable, high-performance asset for any professional berry enterprise.
