BIO MS 2 is a sugar beet hybrid intended for cultivation in the Central Black Earth and North Caucasus regions. This medium-late variety features medium-height plants and wide-conical roots of medium length. Depending on the region, root yield varies: it is approximately 434–520 c/ha in the Central Black Earth region and reaches 639 c/ha in the North Caucasus region. Sugar content in the roots ranges from 16.6% to 18.6%, ensuring a high sugar harvest of 90 to 107 c/ha.
The hybrid is characterized by resistance to major diseases and pests of sugar beet. Root maggot infestation is assessed as weak or moderate, powdery mildew appears to a moderate extent, root rot occurs with a frequency from moderate to above-average, and cercosporosis is practically absent. These characteristics make BIO MS 2 a reliable choice for cultivation in regions such as Kursk and Tambov.
Due to its agronomic qualities and disease resistance, BIO MS 2 is suitable for efficient sugar beet production in the specified regions. The plant provides a stable and high yield with good sugar content, which is important for the sugar industry. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to consider regional features and apply corresponding protective and preventive measures against pests and diseases.
