Description
Cucumber salad hybrid "Dark Horse" — an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid intended for cultivation in greenhouses and under temporary covers. The plant is medium-height with self-regulating branching, facilitating care and promoting even growth. The fruits are cylindrical, dark green in color with slight warts, reaching 14-17 cm in length and 150-200 grams in weight. The hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 17 kg per square meter.
"Dark Horse" exhibits resistance to olive spot and cucumber mosaic virus, significantly reducing the risk of disease and crop loss. Cucumbers are versatile: they are excellent for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and marinating, retaining their pleasant taste and crisp texture.
For successful cultivation, seeds should be sown in soil heated to 14-15 degrees Celsius by late May, or seedlings should be grown and transplanted after the threat of frost has passed. Seed depth is 1-1.5 cm, and planting spacing is 60x15 cm. Key agronomic practices include regular watering with warm water, fertilization every two weeks, weeding, and soil loosening. Irregular harvesting may reduce yield, so timely collection of cucumbers is recommended. Seeds should be stored in a dry, cool place.
