SPINO

Spino F1 cucumber is an early parthenocarpic hybrid of cornichon type developed by the Dutch seed company Syngenta Seeds. This self-pollinating hybrid has an ultra-early maturation period — fruits are ready for harvest as early as 35-40 days after germination. The plant exhibits a generative growth type with shortened internodes and medium-sized leaves, which promotes the formation of a large number of fruits on low trellises. Two to four fruits form on each node, ensuring even load distribution and preventing fruit drop.

Spino cucumber fruits have a regular cylindrical shape, length of 12-14 cm, and a uniform dark green color without light stripes. They are large-buckled, juicy, and have excellent flavor without bitterness, making them ideal for both fresh consumption and processing. When overgrown, the fruits retain their shape and maintain their market appearance. The weight of one fruit is approximately 100-120 grams.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases such as powdery mildew, cladosporiosis, cucumber mosaic, and olive spot. It is easy to grow both in open ground and in various types of greenhouses — glass or plastic, including heated and unheated ones. Spino F1 is not demanding in cultivation technology and is easy to form, making it an excellent choice for spring-summer and summer-autumn rotations with concentrated and intensive early yields.
