Cucumber Ireland F1 is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid of the cornichon type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Enza Zaden. This hybrid features a strong, open, and compact plant with large leaves and medium-sized side shoots. Two fruits form in each axil, contributing to high yield intensity. Cucumber Ireland F1 is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in covered environments, including polytunnels, and can be successfully grown in either the first or second crop rotation. The fruits of cucumber Ireland F1 have a cylindrical shape, 10–13 cm long and weighing 100–130 g. Their surface is covered with large, distinctly dark bumps that remain even when overgrown or under high temperatures. The skin is glossy, dark green with a smooth transition from light green, without light stripes. The seed cavity is compact, ensuring high fruit density and excellent commercial quality. The cucumbers have a fresh, juicy flavor without bitterness, making them popular in culinary use. The Ireland F1 hybrid exhibits stable fruit set and resilience to stress conditions such as temperature fluctuations and insufficient light. It does not drop fruit and demonstrates high yield as early as 32–35 days after transplanting to the final location. The cucumbers are well-suited for transportation and maintain their commercial appearance during long-term storage, making them a profitable choice for commercial cultivation and early-season production.
