Director

Director F1 cucumber — this is a high-yielding early parthenocarpic hybrid developed by the Dutch company Nunhems Zaden. It is intended for cultivation in film and glass greenhouses during the first (early spring) and second (summer-autumn) crop rotations. The plant is of vegetative-generative type, exhibits high resistance to common diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew, and downy mildew, and also possesses excellent regenerative capabilities even after damage. The hybrid is not demanding in terms of agronomy, which simplifies its cultivation and ensures a stable yield.

The fruits of the Director cucumber have a proper cylindrical shape, large-beaded surface, and deep green color without a white tip. Fruit length ranges from 9 to 12 cm, with dense flesh free of voids, which remains even during prolonged fruiting. The cucumbers have excellent taste qualities and a pleasant aroma, making them suitable for use both as fresh produce on the market and for pickling and marinating. The plant forms 2–3 fruits per node, contributing to high productivity.

Director F1 hybrid is distinguished by its ultra-early maturity — from 38 to 50 days depending on growing conditions. Recommended planting density is 3.0–3.3 plants per square meter in the first crop and 2.5–3.0 plants in the second. Due to its disease resistance, high yield, and excellent taste qualities, this hybrid is an excellent choice for greenhouse cultivation and commercial cucumber production.
