Crunchy Cellar F1 is a medium-early parthenocarpic hybrid of female flowering type, intended for cultivation in open ground and under plastic coverings. The maturation period is about 45-50 days, allowing for a quick harvest. The plant features cluster formation of fruit set, producing 2-3 fruits in leaf axils, ensuring uniform and abundant fruiting. The hybrid is resistant to major diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus, true and false powdery mildew, which significantly simplifies care and increases yield.
Fruits have a cylindrical shape with a length up to 11 cm and a weight of approximately 105-115 g. The fruits are covered with small bumps and white spines, possessing dense, crunchy, and tender flesh without bitterness or cavities. Thanks to its low acidity and slightly sweet taste, the cucumbers are suitable for both salad consumption and all types of preservation, including pickling and marination. The crunchy texture remains even after long-term storage in brine, making this hybrid especially valuable for home preservation.
For successful cultivation, seed sowing is recommended in open ground or as seedlings with subsequent transplanting at the 3-4 true leaf stage. Plants prefer warm, moist soils with good drainage. Important agronomic practices include regular and abundant watering, fertilization, and soil loosening. Harvest regularly as fruits mature, which promotes new fruit set and increases overall yield. Under plastic coverings, yield reaches 10-11 kg per square meter, while in open ground — 6-6.5 kg per square meter.
