ZEROS — this is a medium-maturing hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is characterized by high productivity and resistance to adverse conditions. The corn has a tall plant with medium-width leaves and slightly curved shape. The tasseling time is early, and the anthocyanin pigmentation of various plant parts varies from weak to strong, which is a characteristic feature of the hybrid. The ear is of medium length and thickness, with a dent type of yellow kernels. The vegetative period is approximately 105 days, slightly exceeding standard indicators. The hybrid demonstrates high yield — the average regional yield reaches 72.9 c/ha, which is 24% higher than the standard, and the maximum yield amounted to 102.1 c/ha. The grain moisture at harvest is at the level of 21.9%, which is lower than the standard, facilitating storage and processing of the harvest. ZEROS has moderate resistance to common rust and stalk rot, enhancing its reliability and reducing the risk of yield losses. Corn is not only a high-yield agricultural crop but also a nutritious food product. It contains significant amounts of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, as well as being a good source of fiber and protein. This makes it an important component of the diet, contributing to health maintenance and proper nutrition.
