Porumbeny 372 MV is a mid-season inter-row corn hybrid with a vegetation period of 108 to 115 days and a FAO of approximately 370. The plant is tall, reaching 250-270 cm in height, forming 17-18 leaves and large, slightly conical ears 18 to 23 cm long. The ear contains 14-18 rows of dent, yellow, elongated kernels with a red cob. The 1000-kernel weight is 300-320 g, and the grain yield at harvest reaches 85-91%. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to heat, drought, lodging, and major diseases, including head and stalk rots. Due to these qualities, Porumbeny 372 MV demonstrates stable productivity under various climatic conditions, as evidenced by grain yields ranging from 77 to 97 c/ha in steppe zones and up to 176 c/ha in more humid areas. The crop is recommended for grain, silage, and grain-silage mixtures, making it versatile for different agricultural purposes. The optimal planting density varies depending on growing conditions: in dry regions, 55-60 thousand plants per hectare are recommended; under sufficient moisture, 65-75 thousand; and on irrigated lands, up to 85-95 thousand plants per hectare. Porumbeny 372 MV is characterized by good early development, high ear proportion in silage mass, and moderately rapid moisture reduction in grain during maturation, facilitating harvest and storage.
