The ZONE corn hybrid is an early-maturing, simple-modified hybrid with a FAO index of 210, designed for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe and forest-steppe regions. Plants reach a height of 240-250 cm, with ears 20-22 cm long and 14-16 rows of kernels. The kernels have a yellow-orange color and a silica-like, toothed structure, with a 1000-kernel weight of 250-260 g. Ear attachment height is within 100-110 cm, and the stalk is red.
The hybrid belongs to the homeostatic type, ensuring stable yields under varying cultivation conditions, while it responds well to improved agronomy and exhibits rapid water shedding. This allows the hybrid to be effectively utilized both for grain and silage production. The recommended planting density varies by region: 55-60 thousand/ha in the steppe zone, up to 90 thousand/ha in the forest-steppe zone, which contributes to achieving high grain yields of 6.5-9.0 t/ha in the steppe and 8.5-11.0 t/ha in the forest-steppe.
ZONE is adapted for cultivation in various climatic conditions, confirmed by its stability and resistance to adverse factors. Due to its structure and characteristics, the hybrid ensures efficient use of soil and water resources, making it an attractive choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality corn yields.
