Maize ZERNOGRADESKY 401 MV

ZERNOGRADESKY 401 MV — a medium-late maize hybrid (Zea mays L.), intended for grain and silage use. This hybrid features yellow dent kernels and a medium ear with a red cob. The plant is of medium height with a long cylindrical ear, ensuring good yield. Grain yield and standardized dry matter content are at standard levels, making this hybrid a reliable choice for agricultural production. The hybrid is developed based on Moldovan-type cytoplasmic sterility, providing resistance to southern gummy ear rot — one of the main maize diseases in the region. Additionally, ZERNOGRADESKY 401 MV exhibits moderate resistance to stalk rots, ear smut, and ear fusarium. However, it is susceptible to ear bacterial disease and stalk borer, although damage from the borer is mild. These characteristics make the hybrid well-adapted to the North Caucasus region. Maize is valued as a crop for its high yield and versatility — from grain use to animal feed. Thanks to its agronomic qualities and resistance to several diseases, ZERNOGRADESKY 401 MV is an optimal choice for farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality yield during medium-late planting periods.
