VN 63

Corn VN 63 is a medium-maturing hybrid with FAO 280, developed by breeders of VNIIS for grain and silage production. This hybrid is characterized by high yield potential, reaching up to 15.5 tons per hectare, with an average yield from trials of 10.8 tons per hectare. Plants reach a height of 270 cm, ensuring significant biomass, and ear attachment height is approximately 100 cm. The grain has a cream-toothed type, and each ear forms 16 rows of kernels, with 35-40 kernels per row.

VN 63 exhibits high drought resistance, confirmed by a drought resistance rating of 8 points. The hybrid also demonstrates good resistance to diseases and stress factors, including helminthosporiosis (8 points), fusarium (7 points), powdery mildew (7 points), and resistance to lodging (8 points). Due to these qualities, corn VN 63 is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and under different soil tillage technologies, including intensive and minimal tillage.

The hybrid is characterized by very rapid moisture release, which facilitates harvesting and reduces yield losses. The recommended plant density before harvest varies by region: 80-90 thousand plants per hectare for the Polissia region, 65-80 thousand for the forest-steppe, and 60-70 thousand for the steppe. These parameters allow optimizing yield and product quality under various growing conditions.
