Corn Sigiriya is a high-yielding mid-early hybrid developed by the company "Selecta" and adapted for cultivation under various climatic conditions in Ukraine. It is characterized by high resistance to cold and heat, ensuring stable yields even under extreme weather conditions. The hybrid's vegetation period is 106-109 days, making it suitable for effective use in mid-early plantings. Plant height reaches 240 cm, and ear attachment height is 90-100 cm, which facilitates harvesting and reduces yield losses.
The corn kernels of Sigiriya are yellow in color with a dent structure, weighing 270-290 g per 1000 kernels. Ear length is 22-24 cm, with 16 to 18 rows of kernels. Grain yield reaches 83%, and high moisture loss rate enables rapid moisture reduction after maturation, facilitating storage and processing. The hybrid exhibits high drought and heat tolerance, as well as disease resistance, making it a reliable choice for modern agrotechnical conditions.
Sigiriya is intended for grain use and demonstrates high yield potential — up to 15-16 tons per hectare (or up to 250 centners per hectare). Seeds are treated with a fungicide and packaged in branded paper bags, ensuring their protection and ease of sowing. Thanks to its valuable agronomic traits and adaptability, this hybrid is an optimal solution for farmers seeking a stable and high corn yield.
