The hybrid maize SY Arioso is a medium-early variety recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe regions of Ukraine. It is suitable for both grain and silage production, making it a versatile choice for various agronomic purposes. The plants are tall and possess the Stay Green type, which helps maintain green biomass for a longer period and ensures high yields. The average number of rows per ear ranges from 16 to 22, and the kernel type is dent with starch content between 72-76%.
SY Arioso is characterized by high yield potential: grain can reach 12-16 tons per hectare, and silage — 7-8 tons per hectare. The hybrid exhibits rapid grain moisture loss during ripening, facilitating harvesting and reducing losses. The FAO of the hybrid is 270, corresponding to a medium-early maturity period. The cultivation technology is conventional, with the option of irrigation, enabling adaptation to various growing conditions.
The SY Arioso hybrid demonstrates high resistance to stress factors and diseases. It shows strong drought tolerance, cold resistance, and lodging resistance, and is tolerant to diseases such as stalk rot, powdery mildew, and root rots. The recommended planting density varies depending on the region and moisture conditions: from 40-50 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture to 70-80 thousand in more favorable conditions. To achieve maximum productivity, planting should be conducted at soil temperatures of +9...+12 °C, and agronomic guidelines must be strictly followed.
