Maize R 19015

Genetic Architecture of the RAGT Р 19015 Hybrid

The French-bred RAGT Р 19015 is an early-maturing dent corn hybrid primarily developed for grain production. The technical focus of the originator, Societe Ragt 2N S.A.S, centers on phytosanitary resilience and yield stability under variable environmental stress factors.

Biological Defense Against Pathogens

A core engineering achievement in this hybrid’s selection is its robust genetic resistance against a complex of smut diseases. The breeding program prioritized defense against loose and common smut, pathogens that can significantly reduce crop yields under favorable conditions. Resistance to stalk smut further protects the plant's vascular system, ensuring optimal grain filling until physiological maturity.

Pest Adaptation and Ear Morphology

The integrated resistance to the European corn borer allows for optimized insecticide management. This biological trait effectively mitigates the risk of stalk damage, preventing lodging and secondary infections at bore sites. The grain's physical properties—a classic dent type with vibrant yellow-orange color and a conical-cylindrical ear shape—contribute to high test weight and efficient moisture dry-down. This significantly reduces post-harvest drying costs and streamlines the threshing process.
