Corn hybrid B 97 MV is a medium-early, simple modified hybrid with FAO 270, developed in Ukraine. The plant is tall, reaching 250-260 cm in height, does not bush, and forms cylindrical ears 22-23 cm long with 16 rows of kernels and 40-42 kernels per row. The kernels are yellow, cream-colored with a toothed edge, with a 1000-kernel weight of 290-300 g and a grain yield of 80-85%. The hybrid has high germination and stable grain yield at 12-13 t/ha, as well as silage yield of 50-65 t/ha. Hybrid B 97 MV exhibits high resistance to major diseases, including all types of smut and helminthosporiosis, as well as drought, cold, and lodging. Thanks to its high water shedding capacity (about 15%) and genetic resistance, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. The recommended planting density varies from 50,000 to 80,000 plants per hectare depending on the region. The hybrid is versatile and suitable for both grain and silage production. Its high yield and resistance make it a reliable choice for agronomists seeking quality and stable harvests. The red ear stalk and ability to form two ears per plant are additional advantages of this hybrid.
