AMANAUZ 217

AMANAUZ 217 is a medium-early simple two-line hybrid maize (Zea mays L.) with a vegetative period of about 115 days and FAO 420. Plants are tall, reaching 260-270 cm in height, with a long cylindrical ear positioned at 100-105 cm. Leaves are of medium width, slightly curved, with a small to medium angle between the leaf blade and stem. Grain is intermediate type, closer to dent, with yellow-orange coloration on the upper part and orange on the lower. Ear stalk is short, with numerous rows of kernels and medium to strong anthocyanic pigmentation of the stalk. The hybrid exhibits the Stay Green effect, which helps maintain green mass and improves photosynthetic activity during ripening. Anthocyanic pigmentation in the plant varies: weak or medium in roots, medium in tassel sheaths, and strong in anthers. The tassel is long, with curved primary lateral branches of medium quantity, main axis higher than upper lateral branch, forming a medium angle with lateral branches. Silks and leaf sheaths have weak or absent anthocyanic pigmentation. AMANAUZ 217 has high yield potential — average grain yield in the region is 47.2-84.1 c/ha, with a maximum recorded yield of 143 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest is about 22.8%, ensuring good moisture release. The hybrid is resistant to southern helminthosporium, weakly affected by common smut, bacterial disease, and ear rot, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Central Chernozem region.
