Description PORUMBENY 458 SV
PORUMBENY 458 SV — a mid-late maturity simple interline maize hybrid with FAO 450, intended for grain and silage production. In Moldova, it matures in 130–135 days and belongs to the most productive hybrids of its maturity group. Plants exhibit good early growth and retain green mass until full grain maturity, contributing to high yield and product quality.

Potential grain yield is 13–15 tons per hectare, and silage mass yield is 50–60 tons per hectare. The hybrid is stress-tolerant, with high stalk strength, reducing the risk of lodging and breakage. Additionally, PORUMBENY 458 SV is tolerant to major diseases and pests, including southern helminthosporiosis, powdery and downy mildew, bacterial disease, and corn ear fusarium, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions.

The plant has medium or low height, ears of medium or long length with stem color ranging from medium to strong intensity. Grain is dent-shaped, yellow at the top. The hybrid is approved for cultivation in Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine, including the North Caucasus region. Its high productivity and resilience make PORUMBENY 458 SV a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high grain and silage yields.
