Prim 247 MV

Prim 247 MV — this is a mid-early hybrid corn grain type with FAO 240, characterized by high cold resistance and intensive grain moisture release during ripening. The plant is tall, reaching a height of 230–240 cm, non-branching, with a red stem and about 15 leaves on the main stem. The ear is cylindrical, 21–24 cm long, with 14–16 rows of kernels, grain yield is 82–85%. The grain is light yellow, dent-shaped, with 1000 kernels weight of 260–270 g.

The hybrid seeds are produced using modern selection technologies of the Dnipropelevsk Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, ensuring high quality, purity, and stable yield. Prim 247 MV is resistant to temperature fluctuations, has good seed productivity, and is available in three fractions. Seed production is carried out according to first-generation hybridization technologies, guaranteeing profitability and reliability of planting material.

The hybrid responds well to improved growing conditions, but has moderate heat and drought resistance, so it is not recommended for long-term storage and winter harvesting. It is resistant to major diseases and pests, but sensitive to high temperatures in the final stages of vegetation. Recommended plant population varies depending on the growing zone: 55–60 thousand/ha in the Steppe, 80 thousand/ha in the Forest-Steppe, and 90–100 thousand/ha in the Polissia. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 13.0–13.5 t/ha, confirmed by trials in various regions of Ukraine.
