Collective 244 MV is a medium-maturing corn hybrid for grain production with high cold tolerance and significant yield potential. Plants reach a height of 230-240 cm, have a cylindrical ear 21-23 cm long with 14-16 rows of light-yellow, dent-type kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 260-270 g, and the grain yield reaches 83-84%. The hybrid exhibits intensive moisture loss during maturation, which helps reduce grain moisture quickly and facilitates harvesting.
The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia, and is suitable for all soil types with medium to high mineral nutrition. Optimal plant density varies by region — from 55-60 thousand per hectare in the Steppe to 90-100 thousand in Polissia. Collective 244 MV is resistant to major diseases and pests, has good drought tolerance and plasticity, and can withstand monoculture and long-term storage, though it is not recommended for winter storage due to quality degradation during prolonged storage.
Special attention is given to agronomic aspects of cultivation: the hybrid responds well to improved conditions, including conventional and minimal soil tillage, and requires soil temperature not lower than 8°C at planting. Seeds are supplied in packages of 80 thousand units and are cultivated according to strict hybridization schemes to maintain high quality and yield. Potential grain yield reaches 13-13.5 t/ha, confirmed by test results in various regions.
