PORUMBENY 388 AMV is a mid-season, two-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) with a vegetation period of 110-115 days. The plant is tall, reaching 250-270 cm in height, with an ear length of 18-20 cm and an average main tassel axis length exceeding that of the upper lateral branch. The kernels are toothed, with the upper part colored yellow-orange, characteristic of this hybrid. The hybrid is produced on Moldovan-type cytoplasmic sterility, which provides certain advantages in hybridization and resistance.

The hybrid PORUMBENY 388 AMV is resistant to southern helminthosporiosis and drought-tolerant, making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions. However, it is moderately susceptible to stalk rot, susceptible to ear diseases such as bacterial disease and fusarium, and highly susceptible to smut. It also exhibits moderate to strong damage from stalk borer, affecting up to 82% of plants.

This hybrid is intended for animal feed cultivation, both as grain and for silage.
