MAS 40 F

MAS 40 F — a high-yielding, mid-ripening corn hybrid intended for grain production. It features new genetics ensuring stable high yields even under stressful conditions such as drought and water deficiency. This hybrid’s maturity group is mid-early, with a FAO of 390, making it suitable for effective cultivation in the Polissya and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. The plant is tall, with large ears and medium-high ear attachment, which helps preserve yield under adverse weather conditions.

The grain is dent-type, with 16 to 18 rows and 32 to 36 kernels per row. The 1000-kernel weight is 340–360 grams, indicating large and high-quality seed material. The hybrid has excellent phytosanitary grain condition and resistance to common corn diseases, including helminthosporiosis, stalk and ear fusarium, and various rusts. Resistance to these diseases is rated at 7–9 points, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss.

MAS 40 F exhibits high drought resistance (8 points) and lodging resistance (7 points), making it a reliable choice for cultivation under variable climate conditions. The hybrid’s moisture content is 7, facilitating harvest and reducing drying costs for grain. Recommended planting density varies depending on water availability: 65–75 thousand plants per hectare with adequate moisture, and 60–65 thousand with limited water. This planting approach optimizes yield, which can reach 14 tons per hectare with proper care and seed treatment.
