Lopino — a high-potential mid-early hybrid corn, designed for maximum feed production, both as grain and silage. Plants of this hybrid are characterized by good reproductivity and large ears with 14-16 rows of flinty dent-type kernels, each row containing 28-34 large orange kernels. Ear length varies from 19 to 22 cm, and diameter is 4-5 cm. Kernel type is intermediate, closer to flinty, with yellow coloring on the upper part. The hybrid features a large leaf apparatus of semi-erect type, promoting efficient photosynthesis and high yield.
Lopino hybrid is adapted to various cultivation technologies, but best results are achieved with intensive technology involving minimal or zero tillage and optimal mineral fertilizer application. This not only ensures a stable high yield but also contributes to soil agrofond conservation. Plants are of medium or high height, with straight or slightly curved leaves, improving their resilience and productivity. Vegetation period is approximately 115 days, corresponding to mid-early maturity.
The hybrid demonstrates high yield: average grain yield in the Volga-Vyatka region reaches 86.4 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 116.3 c/ha. When grown for silage, average yield of normalized dry matter is 185.2 c/ha, with maximum values up to 530 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest is around 40%, meeting standards. Lopino exhibits good disease resistance, particularly being weakly affected by common smut, making it a reliable choice for farmers under various climatic conditions.
