Corn KSS 2290 is a medium-early simple hybrid with a classic dent-type kernel. The hybrid’s maturity group is 290 according to FAO, providing an optimal balance of maturation speed and yield. The plant is characterized by high stature and wide leaves, and its cylindrical ear contains 14 to 18 rows of kernels, with a total of 28 to 32 rows. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 300 to 320 grams, indicating large kernel size and high grain quality. Hybrid KSS 2290 is distinguished by high yield and stability under various climatic conditions. It is recommended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions. Under optimal conditions, the recommended planting density is 75–80 thousand plants per hectare, and under drought conditions — 55–60 thousand. Grain yield varies across regions: up to 160.2 c/ha in Tambov Oblast, 122.5 c/ha in Krasnodar Krai, 123.3 c/ha in Belgorod Oblast, and approximately 64.9 c/ha in the North Caucasus region. KSS 2290 exhibits high resistance to diseases such as gray leaf spot and fusarium, as well as drought and other stress factors, making it a reliable choice for farmers. The grain extraction rate upon threshing reaches 80–82%, facilitating efficient use of the harvest. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, this hybrid is gaining popularity and receiving positive feedback, outperforming many imported analogs in yield.
