CORN HYBRID RAM 8149

Corn hybrid RAM 8149 is a simple mid-early hybrid with FAO 280, intended for grain production. This hybrid features high germination energy and intensive development in early growth phases, ensuring uniform emergence with proper soil preparation. Plants reach an average height of 250–270 cm, have cylindrical ears 20–22 cm long with 12–14 rows of yellow-orange intermediate-type kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 270–290 g, and grain yield reaches 82%. The grain rapidly loses moisture upon maturity, reducing drying time and preparation for storage.

Hybrid RAM 8149 exhibits high resistance to most known corn pathogens, including smut, fusarium, rust, dry rot, mosaic virus, and gray mold. Additionally, it demonstrates high resistance to lodging (9 out of 9 points), drought (8 points), and damage from major pests (8 points). Its well-developed root system provides plants with sufficient water and nutrients even under prolonged drought. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid shows adaptability to cultivation conditions and stress tolerance, making it an excellent choice for various agro-climatic zones, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe.

To achieve maximum yield, which can reach up to 110 centners per hectare, optimal planting density should be followed depending on the region: 65–70 thousand plants per hectare in Polissia, 60–65 thousand in Forest-Steppe, and 45–55 thousand in Steppe. The hybrid is well-suited for intensive cultivation technologies with optimal fertilizer application and can successfully be used with energy-saving technologies. Seed packaging is performed in strong multi-layer paper bags of 80 thousand kernels, ensuring convenient storage and transportation.
