Mv 255 — a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 290, developed for high grain yields. It has a vegetative period of 95 to 110 days and days to flowering of 65-75. The hybrid is characterized by high potential yield, reaching 13.2 tons per hectare, confirmed by trials in the Zhytomyr region. Plants reach a height of 240-270 cm, ears contain 14-18 rows of kernels, with 38 to 48 kernels per row, and 1000-kernel weight of 290-320 grams. Mv 255 has high resistance to lodging due to a strong stalk, ensuring crop preservation under adverse weather conditions. The hybrid is also resistant to rust, root and stalk rot, corn smut, and demonstrates stress tolerance, drought tolerance, and cold tolerance. These qualities make it highly adaptable and low-maintenance for cultivation across various climatic zones. For optimal development and maximum yield, recommended planting density is 65-70 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 60-65 thousand per hectare in less watered zones. Mv 255 seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, providing additional protection against diseases and pests during early growth stages.
