The hybrid sweet corn GW8001 is designed for cultivation in dry conditions, making it an optimal choice for the forest-steppe and steppe regions. It is characterized by physiological maturity within 115–118 days and belongs to FAO group 350. Plants reach a height of 210–240 cm, with ear attachment height of 110–120 cm. The ear has a length of 22–24 cm and contains 14–16 rows of dent yellow kernels with a red cob, ensuring good kernel fill and attractive harvest appearance. GW8001 has a dense root system and high resistance to lodging, which promotes stable development even under adverse conditions. The hybrid demonstrates excellent drought tolerance and resistance to major corn diseases, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. After the husk is opened, the kernels quickly release moisture, facilitating harvesting and storage. The recommended planting density is 61,000 plants per hectare under normal conditions, increasing to 75,000–80,000 plants per hectare with irrigation. Due to its characteristics, GW8001 is a reliable and productive hybrid that ensures high yield and grain quality under challenging climatic conditions.
