Hybrid corn R0217 (Pioneer) is a mid-late maturity simple hybrid with a vegetative period of about 112 days and FAO 460. The plant features low stature, strong stem, good architecture with low ear attachment. Grain is dent type with yellow coloration of upper and lower parts, ear of medium length, thick and slightly conical. The hybrid has strong anthocyanin pigmentation of the ear core and medium silk coloration, indicating its physiological traits and resistance.
R0217 exhibits high resistance to heat, drought, and gummy ear blight, as well as tolerance to common rust and stalk lodging. The plant shows good Stay Green trait, enabling it to retain green mass longer and efficiently utilize water. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and northern steppe regions, where it demonstrates high yield — average 64.3 c/ha, with maximum yields up to 105.4 c/ha.
R0217 is suitable for grain use and ethanol production. It adapts well to monoculture and minimal soil tillage, and is not recommended for late harvesting. Recommended plant population under sufficient moisture is 60-65 thousand plants/ha, under insufficient moisture — 55-60 thousand plants/ha. The hybrid provides excellent water use efficiency and stable productivity even under drought conditions, making it an advantageous choice for farmers seeking high efficiency and crop resilience.
