Description CALIS
CALIS — a hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.) with a medium maturity period, characterized by high yield and resistance to a range of diseases. The plant is of medium height, with a medium angle between the main ear axis and lateral branches. The hybrid demonstrates resistance to southern helminthiosis, ear bacterial disease, fusarium, corn stalk borer, stalk rot, and blister rust, ensuring stable growth and protection against pests and diseases. The vegetation period is approximately 120 days, allowing the hybrid to be successfully grown in various regions, including the North Caucasus and Central Chernozem.

The corn kernels of CALIS have an intermediate type, with the upper part yellow and the lower part yellow-orange. Yields vary across regions from 50.9 to 72.7 centners per hectare, indicating the hybrid’s high productivity. Additionally, there is an extra-early super-sweet variant that matures in 70 days, with plants up to 1.7 meters tall and ears up to 20 cm long, containing 16-18 rows of large honey-sweet kernels. The kernels have an excellent flavor and sugar content reaching 3%, making them particularly attractive for fresh consumption.

CALIS kernels are rich in vitamins C, B1, B2, B5, PP, E, and provitamin A, as well as significant amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential amino acids. Due to these qualities, the kernels are widely used in the dairy stage for preparing boiled dishes, canning, freezing, and drying. This combination of beneficial properties and high adaptability makes the CALIS hybrid an excellent choice for agricultural production and consumption.
