Nasturcia SD is an early-maturing super-sweet hybrid of sweet corn, distinguished by high quality and excellent taste of kernels. Plants reach a height of 180-190 cm and form two full ears, 24-27 cm long and about 5 cm in diameter. The kernels are bright yellow, juicy, and have a rich sweet flavor, making this variety especially attractive to consumers. The ears mature approximately on day 75-78 after germination, allowing for a quick harvest.
Sweet corn, to which Nasturcia SD belongs, is characterized by high content of water-soluble sugars and low starch content, ensuring prolonged sweetness retention even at harvest stage of the waxy-milk ripeness. This variety is marked by good drought and cold tolerance, as well as relative resistance to lodging. Thanks to these qualities, corn grows successfully under various climatic conditions and does not accumulate harmful nitrates, making it safe and beneficial for consumption.
The plant has a strong root system capable of penetrating deeply into the soil, contributing to its resilience under adverse conditions. For successful growth and fruit formation, sweet corn requires adequate lighting and a warm climate, with optimal temperatures ranging from 5 to 28 degrees Celsius. However, temperatures above 32 degrees during flowering may negatively affect pollination and crop quality. Nasturcia SD is suitable for fresh consumption, as well as for canning and freezing, expanding its culinary applications.
