Description ROSS 197 AMV
ROSS 197 AMV — an early-maturing corn hybrid with FAO 190, developed by breeders of the Krasnodar Research Institute of Crop Husbandry and the Voronezh Branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Corn. This three-line hybrid is distinguished by its high grain yield, reaching 65–72 centners per hectare, as well as a significant green mass output — 380–430 centners per hectare. Plants reach a height of approximately 227 cm, with cylindrical ears 18 cm long, and a 1000-grain weight of 270 g. The grain is semi-silky, yellow in color, which ensures good quality and versatility in use.

The hybrid exhibits resistance to a range of diseases and pests. It is resistant to southern helminthiosis and powdery mildew, and demonstrates moderate resistance to damage by stem borer and Swedish fly. Additionally, the variety shows moderate resistance to stem rot and tolerates adverse weather conditions, including cold and drought, thereby expanding its cultivation potential.

ROSS 197 AMV is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Northwest, Central, Central Chernozem, Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, West Siberian, East Siberian, and Far Eastern regions. The hybrid is primarily intended for silage use, making it a valuable choice for agricultural enterprises focused on producing high-quality feed.
