Corn variety Adygeyskaya is a very late-maturing dent corn variety developed through long-term breeding work by the Adygeya Research Institute of Agriculture. This variety is characterized by medium plant height of about 2 meters, resistance to lodging, stem breakage, and pollen shedding, which ensures reliable cultivation and high productivity. The leaves are of medium width and curved shape, the ear is of medium length, thick and cylindrical, with a medium number of rows of kernels. The kernels are cream-colored and white, making this variety attractive for food use.
Adygeyskaya variety is distinguished by high grain yield, reaching 60.8–71.0 c/ha under production conditions, significantly exceeding the yields of standard varieties. Grain yield per ear is about 82%, and the content of fat and protein in the kernels reaches 5.0% and 11.9% respectively, indicating high product quality. Due to these characteristics, the variety is widely used in the food industry and is recommended for cultivation in the southern foothill zone of the Krasnodar region.
The development of this variety was accompanied by careful selection and culling of initial material, which allowed improving the adaptability and resistance of corn to adverse conditions. The variety has passed production testing in various regions, including Adygeya, Krasnodar region, and the Republic of Abkhazia, and since 2009 it has been approved for widespread use. Its high yield, grain quality, and resistance make Adygeyskaya corn a reliable choice for agricultural producers oriented toward food production.
