Triticale Yarik

Genetics-led protection: why «Yarik» stands out in the triticale market

Developed by the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, «Yarik» spring triticale offers an alternative to conventional varieties that often succumb to leaf diseases during the critical grain-filling period. This variety is designed for growers who prioritize field-level resilience alongside stable yields.

Built-in resistance to major pathogens

The primary edge «Yarik» has over its competitors is its robust genetic resistance profile. By reducing the reliance on aggressive fungicide programs, it allows for a more sustainable approach to production. The variety demonstrates strong resistance to a comprehensive list of threats:

• Cereal rusts: Wheat leaf rust, stem rust.
• Smut diseases: Common bunt (covered smut), onion stem smut.
• Fungal complexes: Tan spot (Pyrenophora), pink root rot, powdery mildew, and brown leaf spot.

The ability to keep the canopy healthy and green for longer allows the plant to maximize photosynthetic activity, resulting in superior grain filling even under challenging conditions.

Why choose «Yarik» for your farming operation?

As a product of NPO «Kubanzerno», this variety is tailored for spring sowing, aiming to provide consistency where other varieties may underperform due to disease pressure. It is particularly well-suited for high-input farms or regions where moisture and temperature fluctuations frequently trigger outbreaks of rust and leaf spots.

For growers looking to hedge against plant health risks while maintaining productivity, «Yarik» offers a reliable solution. Its profile makes it an ideal choice for operations focused on reducing the number of spray passes without compromising the harvest potential.
