Coriander Kirovohradskiy

Technical Profile: 'Kirovohradskyi' Coriander

The breeding program by the Institute of Agro-Industrial Production of the NAAS focused on developing a cultivar with high green mass productivity. 'Kirovohradskyi' is a leaf-type variety optimized for intensive cultivation. Its 70–80 day vegetative cycle ensures predictable output when crop rotation standards are maintained.

Morphological Features and Adaptability

The core value of this variety lies in its rosette structure. The plant forms a well-developed, upright rosette, which is critical for minimizing contact between the leaf blade and the soil. This structural advantage reduces the risk of fungal infections and facilitates mechanical harvesting. The essential oil-rich nature of the variety ensures a robust aroma, which remains consistent even during extended storage of the harvested produce.

• Maturation Timeline: technical maturity is reached within 70–80 days, allowing for reliable supply scheduling.
• Harvesting Technology: the upright orientation of the leaves allows for the use of modern harvesters to cut greens with minimal losses.
• Resilience: the variety demonstrates high tolerance to temperature fluctuations in the Ukrainian climate, effectively preventing premature bolting.

Using 'Kirovohradskyi' seed stock is a strategic choice for commercial farms targeting high-quality leaf yield with superior organoleptic properties.
