Description Silach
The Coriandrum sativum variety Silach is an erect plant of medium height with light green, strongly dissected leaves and white flowers. The vegetation period is 251 days, which ensures that aromatic seeds mature by the end of summer. Young coriander leaves can be used fresh as a spicy addition until flowering begins, while dried seeds have a bright aroma and serve as an excellent flavoring for marinades, pickles, meat and fish dishes, vegetables, homemade baking, and beverages. Silach is distinguished by high seed yield — 22.5 centners per hectare, as well as significant essential oil content — 2.73%. The mass of 1000 seeds is 7.6 grams; the seeds are oval and light brown. A feature of the variety is the high content of linalool in the essential oil — from 70 to 75%, which makes it especially valuable for the food, medical, and cosmetic industries. Essential oil collection reaches 61.5 kilograms per hectare, confirming the variety's effectiveness for industrial cultivation. The Silach variety possesses winter hardiness and is suitable for cultivation both as a winter and spring crop. It was developed and refined at the Institute of Agriculture of Crimea, where comprehensive studies of essential oil-bearing plants are conducted. Thanks to its high performance and universal application, coriander Silach is a leader among essential oil-bearing crops, in demand in the perfume, pharmaceutical, alcoholic beverage, food, medical, and veterinary industries.
