The plant is characterized by medium stem length and thickness, a large number of internodes, and an absence or very weak pubescence. Inflorescences are pink in color, and white markings are often found on the leaves. The variety seeds are multicolored, which is one of its distinguishing features.
The VNIIl 4586 variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia and recommended for cultivation in a number of regions, including the Kaliningrad, Kostroma, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Tver, and Yaroslavl regions. It was developed and originated by the Federal Scientific Center for Fiber Crops and the FSUE VNII Linen, which confirms its breeding quality and adaptation to the climatic conditions of the indicated regions.
VNIIl 4586 is characterized by a late flowering time and medium dry matter yield, which averages 50.4 centners per hectare, corresponding to the standard level. These characteristics make the variety suitable for use in feed production, providing a stable and high-quality yield when recommended cultivation conditions are observed.
