Darnel Lagidna

Technical profile of the 'Lahidna' fodder grass

Developed by the National Scientific Center 'Institute of Agriculture of NAAS', this variety is a specialized solution for high-yield forage production. Unlike wild forms, 'Lahidna' has been selection-optimized to achieve maximum biomass while maintaining high nutritional value.

Morphological indicators and productivity

The key parameter of this variety is its height, reaching up to 150 cm. For a fodder crop, such stature ensures a significant yield of dry matter per hectare. The plant's architecture is engineered to efficiently leverage soil potential in the Ukrainian climate while maintaining resistance to lodging.

• Usage type: Exclusively forage. The variety is oriented toward producing high-protein hay and haylage.
• Adaptability: The genetic foundation provided by NAAS experts ensures a stable response to agronomic practices.
• Foliage development: High leaf density contributes to low lignin content, which is critical for livestock digestibility.

The practical benefit of implementing 'Lahidna' lies in the balance between growth vigor and biochemical composition. The tall growth habit minimizes losses during mechanized harvesting, ensuring high cleanliness and nutrient density of the collected fodder.
