Description Kvarta
Red Clover variety Quart is a perennial, cold-tolerant plant from the legume family, widely used in agriculture and gardening. This variety is distinguished by its high winter hardiness and resistance to diseases such as clover root rot and nematodes, ensuring its reliability and longevity under various climatic conditions. Quart effectively increases green and dry mass both in pure stands and in mixtures with other grasses, making it a versatile choice for farmers and gardeners.

Red Clover Quart is valued for its agronomic and forage qualities. It actively enriches the soil with nitrogen due to its ability to fix it from the air, and also enhances the uptake of phosphorus from insoluble compounds, contributing to improved soil fertility. The plant efficiently absorbs nutrients from the topsoil layers, preventing leaching. Clover serves as an excellent forage base for herbivorous animals, providing high protein content (approximately 12-13% in hay), minerals, and vitamins, rivalling lucerne in nutritional value. Quart is typically grown for 2 to 3 years, but with proper care can be used up to 6 years, with maximum yields achieved in the second year of cultivation.

In addition, Quart variety is part of balanced grass mixtures such as the 'Quartet' mixture, which includes four of the best creeping clover varieties for long-term use. Such mixtures are recommended for inclusion in grass-legume mixtures at up to 10%, enabling the production of high-quality forage grasses with high productivity. The seeding rate for the 'Quartet' clover mixture is 3–5 kg per hectare, with an overall seeding rate for perennial grasses of 30–40 kg/ha, ensuring optimal balance of resilience, yield, and nutritional value.
