Clover Una is a biennial or perennial legume with a well-developed taproot system that penetrates the soil to a shallow depth. Above-ground stems can be erect or slightly curved, reaching up to 45 cm in height. Leaves are trifoliate, with a characteristic light green spot and pubescence on the underside. Inflorescences are spherical, loose, purple-pink in color, and bloom predominantly in June-July, although on pastures, flowering may extend from May to October. Seeds are oval-shaped, smooth, and shiny.
This clover variety is widely used as a valuable forage crop, included in pasture mixtures. The grass contains a high amount of protein and is nutritionally comparable to alfalfa. Yield ranges from 24 to 36 centners of hay and from 120 to 180 centners of green mass per hectare. Clover Una is cultivated as both spring and winter crops, used for green feed, hay, and silage. Seed sowing depth is 1-1.5 cm, seeding rate is 10 kg per hectare with precision seeding and 12 kg with manual seeding.
In addition to its forage use, this clover variety is versatile and suitable for creating dense, attractive, and low-maintenance lawns. It is used for landscaping picturesque lawns in gardens and yards, as well as in mixtures with other lawn grasses. Clover Una has a pleasant aroma and excellent taste qualities, making it especially valuable for feeding livestock and cattle.
