White creeping clover Merlin (Trifolium repens) is a versatile perennial variety, ideal for creating hardy and decorative lawns on sunny areas. The plant features a creeping bush form with a height of up to 40 cm, soft, thin, and long non-hairy stems, and large rounded green leaves. The inflorescences have a spherical shape with a predominance of white coloration, giving the area an amazing decorative look throughout the flowering season. Thanks to the high turf density and resistance to trampling, the Merlin variety is excellent for lawns, garden plots, children's and sports fields, as well as multi-year pastures. One of the key advantages of Merlin clover is its high resistance to drought, temperature fluctuations, and stresses, ensuring rapid recovery after trampling and intensive growth. The plant has a developed root system and the ability to convert atmospheric nitrogen into an assimilable form using root nodule bacteria, reducing the need for nitrogen fertilizers. The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness, resistance to lodging and diseases, as well as high yield: during the vegetation period, 2-3 cuts are possible with a maximum dry matter yield of up to 273 c/ha. Merlin clover is not only decorative but also a valuable fodder plant. The dry matter contains a significant amount of protein (22.3%), calcium (1.79%), magnesium (0.32%) and fiber (17.4%), making it an excellent component of fodder and lawn grass mixtures. The seeds of the variety are large, heart-shaped, with a high percentage of plants with white markings up to 95%. The recommended seed rate is 1–1.5 kg per 100 m². The variety originates from Germany and meets high quality standards.
